This restaurant loan payment calculator from Windwood Funding Group, a small-business funding broker in Fayetteville, Arkansas, turns an amount, an interest rate and a term into a monthly payment, total interest and total repaid. It is arithmetic on your inputs, not an offer; lending partners make credit decisions and set rates and terms.
What to enter
- Amount: the sum you would borrow, for example the price of a kitchen package minus anything you pay up front.
- Interest rate: the annual rate from a quote, or a figure you want to test. Use a rate from a real offer when you have one.
- Term: how many monthly payments, in months.
Behind the scenes it assumes level monthly payments and interest charged on the shrinking balance. Three results appear: payment per month, interest over the life of the loan, and everything repaid.
A quick arithmetic check
A sanity check of the math, nothing more: a hypothetical $1,200 at a 0 percent rate over 12 months gives a $100 monthly payment, no interest and $1,200 repaid. Add any rate and both the payment and the total rise. These figures are not typical of anything a partner offers.
Restaurant math to finish by hand
Some useful restaurant numbers need a pencil:
- Payment against weekly sales. Divide the monthly payment by 4.33 to get a weekly figure, then divide by average weekly sales. That share is what the payment takes from each week.
- Fees. If a fee is deducted from the amount you receive, the real cost is higher than the calculator shows. Add fees to total interest by hand.
- Weekly or daily debits. Only monthly payments are modeled. Offers that debit weekly or daily need their own schedule.
- Leases and advances. A lease's buyout or a merchant cash advance's factor rate are not loan inputs. A merchant cash advance is not a loan and cannot be modeled here.
Why restaurants check payments first
Washington County, AR had 529 restaurants and other eating places in 2023 with 11,418 employees, and only 19.3 percent had fewer than five employees (U.S. Census Bureau, County Business Patterns 2023). With payroll that large every week, a new monthly payment has to fit next to wages, not just next to sales. Run the payment before talking to anyone, and see restaurant financing for the structures that fit kitchens, payroll and new locations, or term loans for a build-out.
Illustrative arithmetic only. Actual rates and terms are set by lending partners alone. Other guides sit on the resources page.
